artist statement

The indirect qualities of printmaking suited my temperament and provided an aesthetic framework for my decisions in painting, drawing, and collage. I appropriate and manipulate images of historically revered art to create an association with the past while linking my work to the familiar ideal of art. From there, I manipulate, respond, manipulate, and repeat conversationally, always hoping that the result is an image that poses interesting questions.
